Poppy palaver (Eschscholzia californica)

I love the Californian poppies, their beautiful bright colours in orange or yellow. It is a drought tolerant wildflower and has a long flowering season. Like full sun It will grow 15-30cm tall. The flower is cup shaped and will close in dull days and at night. Attracts pollinators. I also like this scarlet poppy, which can grow 40-80cm tall, you may well see them in fields, wasteland, or roadsides. Flower June to August.
